The connections between gender, climate and economic activity are not intuitive or obvious, yet they are quite real and very important. As a tool for better understanding the linkages that exist and the evolving state-of-play, the Wharton Social Impact & Alumni Association has asked eight different sector and thematic experts to take five minutes to reflect on how, in their own work, gender is relevant to climate and the extent to which these sustainable development goals (SDGs) are incorporated or are being incorporated into that work.
The purpose of the webinar is to help us develop and refine our understanding of how Gender is relevant to the issue of Climate Change by placing both gender and climate into the context of economic activities, focusing on priority sectors such as Energy & Environment, Climate Adaptation & Indigenous Women, Agriculture, Supply Chains, Social Impact Investment, and Analytics.
I am honored to join esteemed colleagues and leaders to discuss the intersection of supply chains, the SDGs (with emphasis on gender equity), and climate. Speakers include Susan Biegel (Catalyst at Large-Gender Smart Invenstment Summit), Cyrille Arnould (Global Head of Energy & Environment at the European Investment Bank), Lauren Burnhill (Managing Director, One Planet Ventures, LLC), Emilio Sempris (Former Minister of the Environment of Panama), Juan Carlos Pereira (Managing Partner at Add Value Management), Julia Kurnik (Director of Innovative Startups at WWF), Catherine Griffin (Managing Director at Good Company Ventures), and Devon Tighe (Consultant at Criterion Institute).
Hope to see you there!
